Recognizing the Divine

Accepting our own Divinity means we accept ownership for not only our experiences, but also our reactions to our experiences. Of course we cannot accept our own Divinity without accepting others' as well. The Essene communion for Peace with the Mind speaks to the idea that before I can change the events of my life, I must change the way I think about them.

  1. In the words of Buddha "be vigilant, guard your mind against negative thoughts". Feed your mind healthy thoughts of truth. Don't be absorbed by the distortions that are all around you. Focus on what you want. Become a gatekeeper to your thoughts and check the ones who don't serve the truth of who you are. You can change your mind in only a split second ( or less!). How do I become more aware of my thinking? Ask! God, please show me the thinking that contributes to this condition. Pray without ceasing and soon the answer will be revealed.
  2. Relinquish your attachment to the known. Give up the predictability of your past belief system for it is a safety net that we think is going to protect us. See each moment as a new opportunity. Deepak Chopra writes "In our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender our selves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe."
  3. Magnify and multiply your daily thoughts of gratitude. Learn to be thankful for and bless each of your lessons.
  4. Ask for support. Keep a list of people you know you can count on to remind you of your unlimited self. Call them often.
